In my new job as a domestic engineer, I’ve been looking for ways to save money. Here are some of my favorites.
* We make our own foam soap. Use an empty foam soap dispenser, pour a little bit of regular soap (about 1 Tablespoon) in the bottom, fill the rest of the container up with warm water, shake and use. Works great for dish soap also.
*Use vinegar instead of fabric softener (the smell goes away when the clothes are dry) and jet dry.
*Netflix! We used to rent movies all the time until we got Netflix. They even have a large assortment of work-out videos so I ended up cancelling my gym membership. I’d rather do a video at home, while Garrett is napping than lose family time at the end of the day when I’m more tired anyways.
*We switched from paper napkins to cloth. Cute designs too!
*I make my own laundry soap. Doesn’t take very long and is great for sensitive skin.
*Allowance! Mike and I get a predetermined amount every so often to spend on whatever we want. I use mine mostly for clothes and Mike likes to save his for bigger purchases like guns. Saves a lot of fights and helps keep spending down.
*Tide pen and Shout wipes! Gets rid of stains before they set, save clothes! Baby wipes also are great for cleaning up spills!
